READERS' POLL

How long ago did you first read a copy of MiniWorld?

Alec Bayford

It's not often that someone can cross the generation gap. What John Cooper achieved with the Mini Cooper was to bring performance motoring within reach of mortal man; not just in the free, expressive 1960's, but also throughout the 70's and into the 90's. I can think of no other mass produced car that is as popular with today's youngsters as it is to their fathers. Imagine a father and son both agreeing that today's music appeals to both generations! For me John Cooper not only shares his initials with the son of God, he was the messiah. He leaves behind a legacy: the little car on which he placed his name. It will live on, loved and cherished for generations to come.
