Big Yellow Mini Adventure

YellowClubman

Tuesday 15th June 2010

On 21 June 2010, Alex Payne will be undertaking the drive of his life in a bright yellow Mini Clubman Estate in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Alex chose this date for his drive, as it is the longest day of the year.

Alex and his girlfriend Kerry Webber will be driving 850 miles from Scotland to Cornwall in just one day. Their aim is to drive the length of this country using the most direct route possible. They will leave John O'Groats in North East Scotland at 4:01am as the sun rises and hope to arrive in Lands End in South West Cornwall before it sets. They wish to achieve this challenge in only 17 and a half hours.

This is the second time Alex will attempt a 'Mini Challenge' in his classic car for charity. Last year he drove across Europe in his 1983 Mayfair to raise money for a local children's charity called C.L.O.W.N.S.

This particular charity is very important to Alex as he recently lost two family members to cancer. If anyone wishes to show their support to Alex, they can sponsor him on his Just Giving site, www.justgiving.co.uk/alexander-neville-payne.
